I have been teaching for 32 years, beginning in mainstream education in Tasmania in 1995, where I was born and grew up, after having completed a Bachelor of Education – Primary (Honours). AfterIn 2003 I completed my Masters in Inclusive Education and moved into Special Education, and I then taught in Victoria for 4 years from 2007 to 2010 in Special Education. I then moved to Queensland in
2011, and continued to work in education in both Kindergarten teaching and Special Education, including early intervention for students with autism. I have worked with students from early childhood through to Year 12, and was Key English Teacher in my previous EST2 role at Woody Point Special School.

I spent some time writing curriculum units and am a published author. I am currently studying law part-time as it is an area of interest for me. I am a beach lover, and enjoy camping, fishing and
gardening. I love cooking, renovating and reading, and am the Number 1 Fleetwood Mac fan  I enjoy travelling and experiencing new cultures, and have close connections with Thailand, after spending 12 months in school there whilst an exchange student in 1990. My philosophy is centred on developing collaborative partnerships with families, inclusion for students and enjoying the privilege of working with students in guiding their learning adventures and journeys.
