Amy Cox

Since 2017, Amy has worked as a Teacher Aide in all the Basecamps at BIS and in 2023 she completed a teaching degree, with an Early Years specialisation. She is committed to positive relationship-focused education with a strong interest in trauma-informed and restorative teaching practices, which align with BIS’ relationship-based behaviour support approach. She believes education must cultivate children’s positive learning dispositions such as curiosity, determination, and self-management skills, alongside the development of the knowledge and skills to become involved contributors to their community. She is co-founder of REAL Schools Inc., an organisation working to establish a local progressive high school option. Amy’s prior experience and qualifications relate to human resources, office management and photography. Two of her boys are BIS graduates and her youngest son is a senior BIS kid in 2024.
